Our brains are hardwired to seek comfort and easy.
We want everything to happen the way we want it to be — fast and smooth.
But life, as we all know, doesn’t work like that.
In reality, not everything we planned or imagined will come to fruition. There are things beyond our control.
And some things are just meant to happen whether we like them or not.
It’s less stressful if we don’t force things to happen, and just accept whatever the outcome of our pursuits or other people’s.
And it’s less stressful too, if we don’t get fixated on our ideals.
Though ideals can help us reach a certain standard, being too attached to them could make us miserable.
I love what Sadhguru said during his interview in Impact Theory:
“World will never happen hundred percent your way. And I’m glad it is so. Because if it all happen your way, where do I go? I’m glad it’s not happening your way.
Little bit my way. Little bit your way. Little bit somebody else’s way. That’s how the world should be.”
Life is unpredictable.
Most of the time the world doesn’t cooperate. And if it does cooperate, it’s not always the way we want it to be.
Maybe you want to be a successful artist in 2 years. Or maybe, a successful entrepreneur in 5 years. That’s possible. But maybe you won’t achieve it within your expected timeline.
Maybe it’s ten years? Twenty years?
Be patient.
