The Secret of a Juggler

People are always amazed to see someone juggling professionally.

All those tricks and gimmicks.

Check this performance by Alexander Koblikov.

And the legendary Frank Olivier

But there’s a secret…

Actually, there are two:

  1. It takes a tremendous amount of time to become a pro juggler.
  2. It’s impossible to juggle nonstop. At some point, they have to stop to rest and take care of other things, too. 😉

#1 isn’t surprising. It’s self-explanatory. Everyone who became pro at something wasn’t born like that. They have to commit thousands of hours of deliberate practice. Insane commitment and sacrifice.

On the other hand, #2 is something to think about, albeit pretty obvious. Because any pro juggler will agree it’s impossible to juggle non-stop for 24 hours! Aside from the fact that it’s not sustainable, there’s no point in doing that.

But look closely. This also applies to juggling tasks/responsibilities.

  1. Yes, it’s a skill you can learn and develop.
  2. You can’t juggle all the time.

Juggle once in a while if you have to.

But don’t forget to pause and take care of other things in your life.

Otherwise, you’ll burn out.
